the Office of National Statistics puts the re-conviction rate at around 75% (it is safe to presume the re-offence rate is higher). We believe this rate of re-offending reflects a failing rehabilitation process. Research indicates that there are seven pathways to reducing re-offending: Education, training and employment; Accommodation; Health; Drug and Alcohol additions; Finance, Benefits and Debt Counselling; Children and Family relationships; Attitude and behaviour. It is our belief that our ‘hands-on’ holistic approach of meeting applicants and making referrals to organisations that specialise in any of the other relevant six pathways is crucial in improving the life-chances of ex-offenders, the well being of their communities and consequently reducing re-offending.

Our track record: Royal London Society has a 150 year track record of supporting ex-offenders into work, evidenced by HMP Latchmere House (the prison RLS worked most with) which nationally had the lowest re-offending rate when last analysed, expected by Governor Steve Dixey to be even lower in 2010 due to increased RLS support. Read testimonials from beneficiaries of RLS support here.

The Society considers it paramount that funds are used appropriately and directly for the agreed purpose. The reputation and experience of the Society provides its funding partners with the assurance that the supervision RLS provides meets the highest professional standards.
