Michael, a serial offender who had completed two prison sentences, was sponsored by the Society to take a training course associated with a north London garden centre.
Michael’s youth was spent moving from house to house which meant he missed much of his schooling.
Ironically it was during bunking off from school that he discovered a flair for horticulture which he has used to obtain a fistful of NVQs and to move on to further study in arboriculture at Northampton.
